If you enter your domain name in an internet browser and the site displays content that is not yours, your domain may be recently expired. This is the most common cause for sudden changes in the website display.

To easily determine if your domain has expired, you may use a free, web-based tool to perform a WHOIS lookup: http://domains.whois.com/domain.php?action=whois

For this example, we will use “superb.net”. Enter the domain name and perform the lookup to see the full results:

The important line to note is near the bottom: “Expiration Date: 30 May 2010 00:00:00”. If today’s date is past the listed expiration date, then your domain has expired and you will need to renew the registration.

To rectify this, you can go to the main page of MyCP and click “Manage Domains” on the right-hand column under “Domain Names”, and then in the Superb Registrar page, click on the left-hand menu item “Domain Renew” and follow the steps to renew the domain registration. Note that if your domain is not registered via Superb Registrar, then you will need to perform the renewal via the appropriate Domain Registrar.

The reason the page is no longer appearing is the DNS servers for expired domains are changed, and directed to a new IP address. Once the registration is updated and renewed, the DNS servers will revert to the Superb nameservers and the site will be back online as normal.
