An IP address (or Internet Protocol address) is a unique numerical identification code that certain electronic devices use in order to identify and communicate with each other on a computer network through the use of the Internet Protocol standard (IP) — in much simpler terms, an IP address is much like a regular address, only instead of identifying a house it identifies a computer. Any participating network device — including routers, switches, computers, infrastructure servers, printers, Internet fax machines, and some telephones – are capable of having their own address that is original within the scope of that particular network. For more information on IP addresses, we recommend you read the Wikipedia article on IP addresses.

For Orders of more than 10 IP addresses

Customers with orders for more than 10 (11+) IP addresses of will be emailed ARIN’s IP Allocation Policy and a request for them to fill out the application form

Beside each address request, you must list a technical reason why you need this IP address. It is possible to host thousands of websites using only one IP address- additional IP addresses will not be granted for web hosting unless there are extenuating circumstances where a site requires its own IP address. A reason must also not include vanity hosts (special reverse DNS names).
